A Refreshing for Body, Soul, and Spirit

The Southeast Regional Fall Retreat was held at beautiful Joy Mountain where 22 of us enjoyed the gorgeous green foliage and 85 degree weather! It was a wonderful time to fellowship with one another and enjoy the beauty all around us. Here are some of the highlights:

Our SE Director, Susan Marvin, taught, “Life Renovations: Jesus Wonderful Counselor,” and had us read scripture and ask God personal questions. We encouraged one another as we shared what God had spoken to our hearts about His Word.

Marilyn Pennington, CKI group leader from GA, taught, “Enjoying the Journey,” and shared things she’s learned along the way. She had us all remember how far God has brought us and encouraged us to remain faithful.

Carolyn, CKI Co-Director, and Claudia, our Director of Technology, spoke about, “Watch Your Mouth,” giving testimony about how God can change situations when our mouths line up with His Word. The teaching made us realize how faithful God is to perform His Word.

Charles and Rita Holland came from Florida to share their “story of restoration” with us through a question and answer session.

We enjoyed a traditional time around a campfire roasting marshmallows and making s’mores on Saturday night!

Rex Johnson, CKI Co-Director, concluded our weekend retreat with a communion service.

We enjoyed the hospitality ministry of Becky Morrison, a longtime friend of both Rex and Carolyn Johnson and the CKI ministry. She and her husband, Tommy, host our CK conference attendees at their lake house every year at the end of the annual CKI conference in Charlotte, NC. It’s a great time of food and fellowship. She used those same incredible skills and came along with us to make the most delicious meals throughout the weekend. We were immeasurably blessed! What a treat! Thank you, Becky!
