Recently I have been writing on topics such as perseverance, opposition and vigilance. My thoughts this time have turned to endurance. According to one dictionary the definition of endurance is “the fact or power of enduring an unpleasant or difficult process or situation without giving way.” As I read that I was reminded of my days of U S Marine Corps boot camp and the physical and mental endurance it took to survive a few weeks of that program. Vigilance, Opposition and Perseverance

The Book of Nehemiah is a great book of the Bible for covenant keepers. It is a study of one man’s vision of what God wanted from him and the seemingly insurmountable obstacles to achieve that vision. It is a story of starting over, recovering from failure, winning favor with those in high places, overcoming shortages, enduring ridicule and lies, defying open hostility, winning cooperation from diverse groups and completing the vision.
