How Long Do You Stand?

Do you have a hurt – or does your hurt have you?

The answer to this question is lies in what your heart dwells on. If you have a hurt, you have been inducted to the human race. Pain is proof you are alive and ready for a touch from the Healer who not only relieves the pain, but makes you a champion over it.

If your heart prolongs the life of the hurt, you are serving the wrong master. Turn your focus from the intensity of the moment to the One whose name is Deliverer, Counselor, and Comforter. Make God’s Word personal for your need. For example, if you have lost hope, speak Romans 15:13 to yourself, “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” By doing so, the power of the Holy Spirit reminds you that God says He holds you afloat even when thoughts of being a battered sinking ship attack your mind. Believe it!

Ever believed God’s truth then suddenly the winds of disappointment and adversity begin to gust. The enemy would like to come and steal the righteous seed God has implanted in your heart. It is your role to launch out in a faith-walk that burns away your will in the matter and proclaims His will.

How long do you stand?

From our vantage point, time is working against us. From God’s viewpoint, there are sequential details that He is working through for our good both in us and in others involved. If there is healing that needs to take place, don’t rush the process in the flesh nor give up hope because it doesn’t match your pre-established time table. For every need that is stretched by a length of time, there is a God who is anxiously waiting to prove to us, “I AM enough!” So, how long do you stand for a righteous thing? You stand until the healing, softening, and the heart turning is complete. “Therefore take up the whole armor of God that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand.” Ephesians 6:13 NKJ
