NE Yellow Ribbon Day Meeting Report
Yellow Ribbon Day for the Northeast Region was held Saturday, October 20, 2018, at Faith Outreach Center in Mount Joy, PA. The church, home to a local CK member, graciously provided their sanctuary for nineteen Covenant Keepers and guests to enjoy an afternoon together. CK members in the area helped leader Ann Barley host the event.
NE Regional Director, Nancy Conlan, opened the gathering with a prayer, announcements, and a brief history of Yellow Ribbon Day. Leader Margie Nishan shared Isaiah 43:19: “Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”
The group was very encouraged as they viewed two videoed sessions of teachings by Craig Hill on the subject of Marriage Covenant. Craig presented the teachings as a guest speaker at the 2018 Family Conference in Charlotte last July where he laid a scriptural foundation for standing for marriages. His wealth of wisdom about marriage and covenant was a breath of fresh air for all!
The teaching sessions were bookends to a special time of worship led by leader Claude Doucette from Canada. Following worship, Frank Testa, a local pastor who chose to attend the event, asked to share from his heart. He said that our faith for marriages pleases God and that he wanted to extend a blessing to each person. He also shared that, although he arrived with the intention of giving support to others, he himself was encouraged because, as a pastor who believes in the marriage covenant, he is most often misunderstood and alone, just covenant keepers are.
Following the video teachings, there was a time of comment and discussion. Intercessor Pat Dziomba then prayed for everyone. The meeting ended with groups of three or four attendees gathering to pray for one another.
A dinner buffet prepared by leader Ann Barley and the local CKers enabled everyone to fellowship for a time to close out a wonderful day!
Thanks be to God for giving us such a blessed time together!
