Deuteronomy 31:6  Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Joshua 1:9  Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. Joshua 10:25  And Joshua said unto them, Fear not, nor be dismayed, be strong and of good courage: for thus shall the LORD do to all your enemies against whom ye […]

Why Falling Out of Love Never Justifies Divorce

I recently read a transcript of a radio broadcast from John Piper, founder and teacher of desiringGod.com. This transcript should pull on the heart-strings of every Covenant Keeper and keep one on the straight and narrow path of keeping covenant. The entire transcript can be found on John Piper’s website at this address: https://www.desiringgod.org/interviews/why-falling-out-of-love-never-justifies-divorce. What do you believe? Why? As we and many people around the globe start into the holiday season, do you wonder why we believe and observe holidays? Do you ever question your religious beliefs about the holidays? Consider the one coming this month during October. Ah, Halloween–the celebration of witches, ghouls, goblins and trick-or-treating. Did you know that present day Halloween started thousands of years ago in the land of the Celts (Ireland / Wales) Rural farmers knew they needed the sun to make their crops grow. As the days shortened in the fall they were afraid that winter would […]

From the Beginning, God Knows

“The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].”  John 10:10 (AMP) This is a beautiful and clarifying Scripture. If there is stealing, killing and destroying going on the thief (devil) is at work. If life is enjoyable and there is an overflowing abundance, Jesus is at work. Yet we all know bad things (stealing, killing and destroying) happen to Christians. So what’s the deal? God knows every single detail of your life – from the beginning […]

Choose Joy!

The joy of the Lord is my strength. Nehemiah 8:10 The breakup of a family is a very painful thing. All kinds of horrific thoughts go through our minds when we are given the “bad news” that our marriages are being torn asunder. Just a few of the words that come to mind are shock, despair, tremendous fear and disbelief. The Bible says that there is a time to mourn and I believe that it does take some time to grasp the enormity of the problems that must be faced. Some people never get over it and chose to live […]

Restored Vision

Hair appointments can be quite a challenge for me. Removal of my eye glasses and hearing aids is necessary so that they neither get damaged nor wet, which means that I cannot see clearly what my stylist is doing or hear without distortion what she is saying to me. I have to explain what I want to her beforehand and trust that she will cut and style my hair the way I would like it. Today I was reminded how this is an analogy of the work of my heavenly Father and His precious Holy Spirit as we CKs stand […]

The 2017 Opposition You Will Face

I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself for me. (Galatians 2: 20) Those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. (Galatians 5:24) A CK from Atlanta says, “Dead men have no rights.” What a true statement. If we have been crucified with Christ we are dead to our flesh and we no longer live. It is He living […]

Truth Revealed In A Manger

I have been studying the book of Romans since September at Community Bible Study. Our third lesson from Volume 1 titled Truth Revealed is taken from Romans 1:18-32 and contained many insights into not only our lives as covenant keepers but the lives of prodigals. Here are a few paragraphs taken from pages 28-29: “So the human problem does not come from a lack of knowledge, but from failure to acknowledge God. Throughout this section, we see humanity’s feverish attempt to reverse the order of creation. Instead of accepting that they themselves are made in God’s image (Genesis 1:26-27), people […]

Confessing God’s Word

I. Joshua’s formula for success (Joshua 1:8) a) Keep the Word in your mouth (Book of the Law). b) Meditate day and night in that Word. c) Do what the Word says. II. David knew his success depended upon his meditation and confession (Psalm 19:14). a) As a teenager he had experienced a tremendous victory because of meditating on God’s Word and boldly speaking it forth in the face of Goliath (I Samuel 17:45-50). b) He spoke words of faith before the giant fell (before our healed marriages are manifested). c) Anyone can shout after the victory is won, but […]

Standing in the Gap

  • By Covenant Keepers, Inc.
  • September 28, 2016

We are called to intercede and stand in the gap for our spouses, our children and grandchildren. If we don’t stand in the gap, who will? We have authority in the spiritual world because we are joined by covenant and one flesh to our spouses and in the case of children, by blood. These people are our appointed mission fields for this time in our lives. Sure, it is hard and we are often tempted to give up. But if we give up who else will stand for them? It is probably our most difficult mission in life, but it […]
