Hope – Part 2

This is the second installment from the book Hope by Marilyn Conrad   HOPE OR DEFEAT? Life can be tough and painful. God did not promise that we would never have challenges or difficult times to go through. When these times come we find out what is on the inside of us. Do we choose to grow better or get bitter? Do we choose to speak the Word over our situations or let our situations overcome us? Do we choose to believe what God says or do we believe the lies of the enemy of our souls? Do we choose […]

Hope – Part 1

The Lord has ministered to me that covenant keepers need encouragement, and He impressed upon me to share with you about hope. Since beginning to stand for our marriages, we have all had someone say to us, at one time or another, “Don’t get your hopes up,” or “You don’t get anything by hoping.” God’s Word encourages just the opposite; He wants us to get our hopes up. In fact, the Word puts prime importance on hope. Hope is the first step in marriage healing. Hebrews 11:1 says, “Faith is the substance of things hoped for.” Without hope, we have […]

Covenant Keeping 201 – The Problem With Our Tongue

  • By Covenant Keepers, Inc.
  • February 5, 2019

Last month I talked about how to tell if you really have forgiven. I pointed out that all you have to do is listen to what comes out of your month. Even though you may never forget what happened to you in the past, that has nothing to do with forgiveness. If you are still talking about a specific incident, you have not forgiven. Today, let’s talk about the tongue. Psalm 34:11-13 says, “Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you to fear the Lord [with awe-inspired reverence and worship Him with obedience]. Who is the man who […]

When You Don’t Know What to Pray

  • By Covenant Keepers, Inc.
  • January 8, 2019

Have you ever been so burdened by a problem that you say “I just don’t even know what to pray?” When the circumstances of life seem too big or complex to comprehend, shift your focus to who God is by praying God’s character. For every circumstance I believe and proclaim… God is sovereign. All authority and all power is His. Matthew 28:18. Nothing takes Him by surprise. All circumstances serve Him. God knows the end from the beginning. Psalms 119:91, Isa 46:9-10. His word is forever settled in heaven. Psalms 119:89. God does all things for our good and His […]

USA  CA: Praising God for the joy with which He continues to fill my heart. I am so grateful for all the wonderful people in my life. Last week I went with some friends to watch a play about C.S. Lewis and enjoyed having that time with faith-filled women who understand and support my stand. Also, this weekend I completed a Tough Mudder event with my son and friends. We had such a good time! Through the training for that event, God showed me that, even when I feel that I’ve reached my limit, I can push myself further. I’ve […]

Christmas While Waiting For Restoration

  • By Covenant Keepers, Inc.

Christmas. It is that wonderful time of year when families celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. It is a time of cheer, a time of blessing and a time of… Wait! Hold on a minute! If we are honest with our thoughts, it’s a time of remembrance. A time when we had our spouses in the same house and a sense of great love and anticipation as we watched our “I do” open the special present we spent hours picking just for them. The reality is that we may be feeling sad, that this year our spouse is […]

Christmas Tidings of Great Joy

  • By Covenant Keepers, Inc.
  • December 18, 2018

Why do we celebrate the birth of Jesus on December 25th? Is it because we have always done it that way? Why is there a Santa Claus if we are celebrating Jesus’ birth? Why have a Christmas tree? And what’s with the sleigh and reindeer? Do you ever wonder about those things? Is the whole thing a celebration of pagan rituals captured by commercial interests in the last couple of centuries to generate revenue for greedy retailers? Sometimes I wonder about that one. The truth is that we do not know the exact date of Jesus’ birth. Before you accuse […]

Who am I, Lord?

  • November 20, 2018

A relevant topic warrants repeating, so this month we are revisiting a topic from some years ago. Most mornings in the growing season you will find me outside shortly after dawn watering my garden veggies and flowers, then sitting on the back patio to read a daily Bible reading and to “contemplate life.” For several days this past season, the question “Who am I, Lord?” was persistently on my mind. I have learned that when thoughts are persistent I should pay attention. It could be something I need to address in my own relationship with the Lord or with Carolyn. […]

A Refreshing for Body, Soul, and Spirit The Southeast Regional Fall Retreat was held at beautiful Joy Mountain where 22 of us enjoyed the gorgeous green foliage and 85 degree weather! It was a wonderful time to fellowship with one another and enjoy the beauty all around us. Here are some of the highlights: Our SE Director, Susan Marvin, taught, “Life Renovations: Jesus Wonderful Counselor,” and had us read scripture and ask God personal questions. We encouraged one another as we shared what God had spoken to our hearts about His Word. Marilyn Pennington, CKI group leader from GA, taught, […]

Look What God is Doing

Canada CK had lots for which to praise the Lord after several weeks of visiting with family. Her husband was there too and thanked CK’s brother for taking good care of her. Soon after that, she was at a church event with other women where she was able to share about covenant marriage with one woman whose husband had recently left. She saw that her words were like water to a dry plant. Then, coming home, she was able to contact her daughter-in-law for the first time in a long time. Usually, she doesn’t know what to talk […]
