Enduring

Enduring is not a skill we readily run to. For it pushes us out of our familiar zone. Yet enduring is a necessary ingredient to complete our faith. It takes a holy promise and hangs on until it is fully baked. Enduring lasts longer than the challenge. It has a fight-to-the-death mentality. Enduring is measured by the value of its fulfillment, not the time and energy it takes to see it through. Enduring is fueled by its vision.  If its source is mere human, it can only do what great humans can do. If it is powered by God Himself, […]

Reconciliation

These are notes from a 2004 testimony of a restored couple. The husband was a prodigal preacher and the wife was a faithful stander. They both stood in front of the congregation which he pastored and he repented individually and corporately before them. The wife stressed that the more she learned about covenant the more she knew there was no other option but to stand. At the end, their three daughters were right there with them. The church corporately said, “I forgive you.” As a member of the congregation put it, “It’s like seeing a feeding the 5000 miracle right […]

The Story of Two Christmas Trees

Rex and I just finished the process of putting up the Christmas decorations at our house. Have you ever noticed that before you can sit back and enjoy the beauty of the finished product you usually have a big mess all over the house? First, you have to get all the boxes of decorations from storage – wherever that might be. And many times this storage area is not convenient. Depending upon the home where we lived that storage area has been the attic area over the garage, in the garage stacked behind other more often used boxes, in the […]

Above all things at all times, God seeks relationship and fellowship with us. Our love of Him means that much to Him. He seeks for ways of intimacy with us. Knowing God and enjoying Him and life is what God wants and desires. We have constant unbroken fellowship with Him. 1 John 1:7 (AMP). As we draw near unto God, He draws near unto us. Then the way we live will always honor and please the Lord, and our lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, we will grow as we learn to know God better. […]

How can you…?

  • By Covenant Keepers, Inc.

How can you sin if you are surrendered? How can you hurt when you are so busy helping? How can you be double-minded if you have a made-up mind? How can you enjoy the flesh when you live in the Spirit? How can your befriend the world when your best friend is Jesus? How can you win in the flesh a battle that was meant for the Spirit? How can you control what was not meant for your control? How can you say you don’t have faith, when it is a choice? How can you just cope if you are […]

Beauty Instead of Ashes

…to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. Isaiah 61:3 In the early morning hours of this past Thanksgiving, my dear friend suffered a devastating house fire. Thankfully, no one was home…including the neighbors on either side of them. So by the time a passerby saw the flames, it was too late to save the house or anything in it. The first word she got about the fire was from an “ambulance chasing” insurance person calling to get in […]

In Partnership With God

Recently I read a blog by Steven Furtick, pastor of Elevation Church in Charlotte, NC. He talked about the tension that exists in the Bible that we all feel and live in every day. When God created the heavens and the earth He called them good. They are good because God made them and called them that – things such as the earth, sun and moon, animals, man (male and female) and marriage. They are all God-made and are good things. But we all know that everything that happens is not good. Because of what happened in Genesis 3, disobedience […]

By Carolyn Johnson   Some of you may remember I taught from the book Lone Survivor by Marcus Luttrell at the conference in 2013. There were so many statements he made in the book that rang true for covenant keepers. This week our office staff went to see the movie. As a warning I want to say it is rated R and is extremely intense; the language is horrible but the story is a great one. It is really about the human need to have close friends surround us especially during a time of crisis. In Luttrell’s case it was […]
